Boil Water notice - Fowey

The water main which burst in Fowey yesterday has been repaired and supplies were restored at 4am this morning. However, as a precautionary measure, the boil water notice remains in place for the 110 affected properties.

Although the main was repaired hygienically and was thoroughly disinfected before the supply was restored, due to the damaged section of sewage pipe found in the vicinity, further precautions are necessary.  In these circumstances we always ask consumers to boil the water they use for drinking and cooking as a precaution until we have the clear results of samples taken from across the area over a number of days.

We will be keeping customers updated and anticipate that the boil water notice will remain in place until Saturday morning.
