Advance notice of road closure: Bonhay Road, Exeter

28th April 2017

A section of Bonhay Road in Exeter (A377) will be closed while South West Water moves a sewer to make way for new student accommodation. A signed diversion route will be in place.

The road will be closed between the entrance and exit of Exeter St David's railway station blocking all through traffic between Exe Bridges and the roundabouts outside the Great Western Hotel and at the bottom of St David's Hill. The diversions will be in place from Tuesday 2 May until Friday 26 May.

To ensure public safety motorists are asked not to use the station to bypass the diversion but to follow the official diversion signs. Drivers are advised that it will not be possible to turn right at the station exit and back towards Exe Bridges roundabout.

HGV drivers should follow the HGV diversion route as there will be no option for turning if the diversion signs are not followed at Exe Bridges.

The station and the business along Bonhay Road remain open as usual. Motorists may want to consider allowing extra time for their journey.
