Emergency road closure - Magdalen Street, Exeter

Exeter drivers are asked to allow more time for journeys today due to emergency repairs to a burst water main.

Magdalen Street, Exeter,  will be closed from 11am today to enable repairs to the main outside Hotel Barcelona.

Coming from Western Way drivers will only be permitted to turn left into Southernhay by the Southgate Hotel or follow the lane around to the right back onto Topsham Road. The lane through to Magdalen Road and Western Way will be closed.

South West Water is aiming to complete the repair today and reinstate the road tonight. A spokesperson said: "We appreciate this will cause significant congestion and we are working hard to complete the repair as swiftly as possible."
