Reducing leakage

Continuing to reduce leakage is a top priority for South West Water and our customers. 

We have made significant progress and continue to do so, hitting all our annual targets. We deploy a variety of high-tech electronic methods to detect leaks, such as: drones; installing electronic devices, known as acoustic loggers, on our large pipes; and pressure monitoring across our large rural network. We do not issue divining rods, nor do we train or instruct our engineers to use them as they are not part of our standard procedures. Our focus is to spot a leak as quickly as possible and fix it.
