Mousehole update

29th May 2018

While investigating a leak in the grounds of the Old Coastguard Hotel, Mousehole, on Monday 21 May, we identified a burst on a section of badly damaged sewer.

Today (26 May) we have put in a temporary overland pipe to replace the damaged section of sewer. The tankers, which were being used to transport wastewater from Mousehole to Penzance, have been stood down. We have also temporarily reinstated the grounds of the Old Coastguard.

We are pleased to have been able to put these measures in place and confirm that Mousehole is very much open for business this bank holiday weekend.

We are investigating permanent repair options and will keep the Environment Agency, the Harbourmaster and local residents updated.
