Has your business got an idea to help save water but needs funds to get it going?
We’re looking for projects - big and small - whether it’s using rainwater for flushing loos, fitting flow restrictors on taps, converting your toilets to dual flush, or harnessing other new technology to reduce demand.
Whether you are:
- a business in Conwall or eligible areas in Devon*
- a Water Retailer supplying a business in Cornwall or eligible areas in Devon*
- a water conservation service provider supporting a business in Cornwall or eligible areas in Devon*, we want to hear your idea and consider it.

Funding criteria
We are encouraging new and innovative ideas to reduce water-use in businesses that operate out of Cornwall and parts of Devon – big or small, hairdressers or farmers, cafes or factories the application for funding support is open to all.
Projects must meet two key requirements:
- They deliver water efficiency in Cornwall or eligible areas in Devon now – the project must save mains tap water and be able to demonstrate a tangible, sustainable reduction in water use (litres/day saved as a result of the project) before 31st December 2023 in specific Postcode areas in Cornwall and parts of Devon*.
- Deliver a minimum water-saving cost benefit that is better than £1/Litre/day saving from the SWW funding contribution applied for.
E.g. Project costs £6000
SWW Fund provides £3000
Project calculation shows savings of 3700Litres/day:
Cost benefit for SWW Fund = £3000/3700Litres/day
=£0.81/Litre/day ✔

For funding, businesses must meet the funding criteria, have a valid supply point identification number (SPID), be in the target area and demonstrate tangible, sustainable reduction in water use (litres/day saved) before 31st December 2023.

South West Water reserves the right to stop the Fund at any point. We will update our website to make it clear when the cap is reached, if the Fund is extended, or if the Fund is stopped.
