We would like to apologise to customers in the Tiverton area who may experience low pressure or loss of water later on today. A burst pipe has caused flooding at Allers Water Treatment Works that is resulting in difficulties supplying water. We anticipate that it could be several hours until the situation is resolved.

South West Water is advising customers to be prepared for more cold weather predicted for this weekend across the south west. Customer Services Director Jo Ecroyd said: “During very cold weather, frozen pipes and the subsequent thaw can be a problem across both customers’ own pipe-work and across the mains network.

Work to reinstate Topsham Road in Exeter is due to start tomorrow (Saturday).
